We live in denser cities yet we aspire for a natural, greener environment. Like any other sprawling city of India, the importance of sub-urban living cannot be underestimated. Ahmedabad is one of the city of India were the sprawl is dominated by the aspiration of people to have a bungalow type house. In its experimental conceptual stage there were two proposals drafted on two simple concepts.

Typology 1 looked at an outward looking sub-urban house with services and courtyard taking more centric placement. This led to open up the periphery to blend and respond to its natural surroundings.

Typology 2 looked at an inward looking urban house, with services and private spaces are tucked at the rear while public spaces of the house enjoyed spatial relationship with the courtyard.
